Safe Baby Presentation

Safe Baby PresentationComing soon to a living room near you! Have a party and learn Infant and Child CPR with your friends.

Purpose:  The purpose of the Safe Baby Presentation is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to help sustain an infant's life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until advanced medical help arrives. The content and activities and help participants gain information on the prevention of injury and illness, with a focus on infant safety. The presentation will introduce participants to the principles of first aid.

Prerequisite:  None

  • Recognize an emergency
  • List ways to prevent childhood injuries
  • List the 3 basic steps to follow in an emergency
  • Call EMS and provide appropriate information
  • List signals of breathing emergency for an infant
  • Demonstrate how to care for an infant who is choking
  • Demonstrate how to care for an infant whose heart has stopped
Length:  Approximately 1 hour

Participant Materials:  American Red Cross First Aid and Preparedness booklet
